Throwback Thursday-Owls

These were done several years ago in watercolor...

I went to the eye DR. today and even after several hours my eyes are still dilated so I'm not doing much today...the good news..my eyes are doing great...bad news...new glasses are expensive even with insurance... :( 

More Background

I used masking fluid to block out the inner circle and wolf shape...then I finished the background with wet-on-wet watercolor...blues and a bit of purple...I added a bit of rock salt for texture while it was still wet...

Something I just learned with rock salt...to get it to work on watercolor the best it should be wet before you put it down...

After the background was dry I took off the masking fluid and started a simple decorative frame around the inner circle...

Tree Fairy

Another one in acrylic..done playing with acrylics for now...back to watercolor...

I had paint leftover from my moon painting and didn't want to waste it so I painted this background...then found a tree shape I liked and did it in all black and added a Fairy...

Acrylic Moon

Played around with acrylics this weekend..just can't seem to get it right...I think I prefer watercolor...

I used a picture from one of those Painting Party sights as a reference for this...I don't remember which one and can't find it...

I couldn't get the mountains painted like they did...but the rest is pretty much like the picture I looked at...good for practice...

With 2.5 days of training for work this week, I haven't had time to do any art. :( It's Throwback Thursday so here's some colored pencil art I did several years ago...
