I'm having trouble being inspired...did a couple of quick sketches...not sure what I'll do with them yet...just needed to put pencil to paper...

Veggie Doodles
Since it's fall and also harvest season I htought I should try my hand at drawing some vegetables...
My favorite is the corn...the leaves actually started with a mistake in the coloring and by the time I was finished trying to correct my mistake...I fell in love with how the colors turned out...

A Little Birdie
Something different...I played around with Fimo clay and made this little birdie...
then I used Terry's letter punches and put on the word "Joy"
After baking it I really didn't care for the off white color so I painted it then darkened in the letters...
added some turquoise birds and chips to wire and put it all together on a short silk necklace...

Old Time Car
This throwback Thursday is of an old car I drew in pencil...
I drew this back in High School..around 45 years ago...now that's really an oldie...

Tree
I did this watercolor background using blues...red and purple with rock salt...
It took me a few days to figure out what to add to it...I turned it this way and that and finally saw the beginnings of an old twisted tree...
I love how the background shows through the tree giving it a ghostly appearance...

Unalome
I did this with watercolor making texture with rock salt and plastic wrap...the middle doodle is a Unalome...
The Unalome is originally a symbol from the Hindu that represents the path to enlightenment and wisdom...Our path isn't always straight forward, far from it...there are many twists and turns...
Trust your journey...
it's all part of a larger plan.

Doodle Flowers
Played around with watercolor and ink this afternoon after finding some pretty alcohol ink paintings by Sarah Dickens...here is a link to her Etsy shop...
I don't have any alcohol inks so I decided to see what I could do with watercolor...
I first made a few watercolor circles of various color combinations...
I let it dry and then played around with the shapes adding ink to make flowers and leaves...
Not bad, but I love her work...be sure to check her out...
Yard Sale FInds
If you know me...you know I love yard sales...love finding bargains and rummaging through to see what I can find...this weekend I think I did pretty good...
24 4 to 5-inch wooden circles...20 3 to 4-inch hearts..a couple of diamond shapes and lots of small hearts...all for $1.00...
Plus these two canvas bags to paint for 50 cents...
My mind is full of art ideas for what I can do with all of them...Ideas include painting...pyrography...maybe even a little wood carving...they should keep me busy creating for some time... :)

Doodles
Some Native American style doodles...
I'm enjoying sketching/doodling in my books, but the paper doesn't take watercolor or acrylic very well...the watercolor markers seem to work the best.

Sunflowers
I mowed weeds Friday evening and Saturday morning and my allergies have been horrible since.
:( I still wanted to do art of some kind...so...I played with watercolor markers my friend Robin Woolever gave me...

I bought a few sketchbooks a couple of years ago and never did anything with them. I did this on the first page.

The color didn't bleed through like I was afraid it would. Yea!
I really enjoyed using them and know having a place for my art instead of just loose papers lying around. I think I'll continue to practice drawing in these and try different mediums too...
